綠意共融：少數族裔環保小隊長計劃 Little Green Leaders
Ethnic Minorities in Hong Kong often experience social exclusion, primarily due to language barriers. This not only affects their sense of belonging and social interaction but also limits their access to educational and community participation opportunities. "Little Green Leaders" is a dynamic initiative designed to empower EM children by combining environmental education with language acquisition. We aim to raise environmental consciousness among EM children through teaching eco-friendly related vocabularies by our CanTone App and interactive activities.
During the three-month project period, we co-organized 10 eco-friendly themed Cantonese learning events for over 100 EM children with our NGO partners, enhancing both their Cantonese language skills and environmental knowledge.
Feedback from participants and organizations was overwhelmingly positive. EM children developed a deeper understanding of environmental issues and their role in sustainability. Local NGOs have expressed strong interest in continuing and expanding the Little Green Leaders project, indicating its success and the demand for further similar initiatives.
The Little Green Leaders project not only successfully improved the participants' Cantonese language skills and environmental awareness but also played a pivotal role in enhancing their social integration and participation in Hong Kong society.
