




What is Eco-pilot Project?
Eco-pilot projects target to provide young innovators with a platform to develop and implement green and sustainability-focused initiatives and innovation that can drive positive environmental and social change. We build a network of like-minded individuals, community partners, and industry experts, enabling them to collaborate and having the hands-on experience through putting their eco-pilot projects into community action.
Objectives
To raise awareness and encourage community participation of proposed green and sustainability-focused initiatives
To create and drive positive social and environmental impacts by implementing the eco-pilot projects for targeted communities
Project Period (Cohort 2)
April 2026 – June 2026 (3 months)
Target Participants
Young innovators, changemakers and green enthusiasts who are passionate in creating and driving own green initiatives in the community are welcome to join targeted communities
Project Fund
HK$10,000 project fund for approved team/s to execute projects within the project period.
Eligibility
HKID holder aged 18 or above
You may either participate individually or in a group up to 6
Current student or recent alumni of local university/ tertiary institutions
All team members can only join ONE group and submit ONE application during the application period
Participants of current Ideation teams under Future Ecopreneur Programme (Cohort 2) are NOT eligible
Teams may comprise of members from different universities/ institutions and academic backgrounds
Interested in developing green and sustainability-focused initiatives to address climate change and driving sustainable development in the community

Extreme weather has posed threats to vulnerable communities. It's time for us to enhance our resilience to tackle climate change.
Green Impact Co-creation Day (November 15, 2025)
NGO Visits (Dec 2025 - Feb 2026)
To ensure that project designs were closely aligned with genuine community needs and to enhance feasibility, six NGO visits were hosted between December 2025 and January 2026. This initiative provided young innovators with the opportunity for in-depth exchanges with NGO partners and created a platform for direct interaction and communication with various local groups affected by climate change. By facilitating extensive dialogue among participants and NGO partners, it encouraged collaborative brainstorming of community-rooted solutions before formal proposal submissions, thereby enhancing the impact and practicality of projects.
Visit 1: Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service (Residents of rural squatters)
Visit 2: The Salvation Army (Homeless)
Visit 3: Caritas Labour-Friendly Communities Project (Cleaning workers)
Visit 4: Hong Kong Red Cross (Residents of low-lying and Coastal communities)
Visit 5: Social for Community Organization (Residents of urban subdivided flats)
Visit 6: AKA Social Service (Elderly singletons and doubletons)
Design Thinking Workshop (24 January, 2026)
To ensure that project designs were closely aligned with genuine community needs and to enhance feasibility, design thinking workshop was held to allow young innovators to explore human-centered and innovative solutions. Design thinking was a human-centered innovation process focused on understanding user needs and creating meaningful solutions. Through practical case studies and interactive sessions, these workshops guided participants in deepening their understanding, thereby enhancing the impact and practicality of projects.

Timeline (Cohort 1)
Project Submission

Interested individuals/ team shall submit a project proposal covering the following:
1. Scopes and objectives of the project
2. Project execution plan and deliverables
3. Team composition and expertise
4. Community/ sustainability impact of the project
5. Resources allocation and use of project funding
Assessment Panel Meeting
Mid - October 2024 (TBC)
Venue: TBC
Each Project will be given 5 minutes for pitching in front of a panel of judges, followed by a 3-minutes Q&A session.
