Ceramics Cycle

Ceramics Cycle is a sustainability initiative by Tochi Lab, dedicated to repurposing ceramic waste and promoting eco-conscious practices. By transforming discarded ceramics into valuable resources, the project reduces the environmental impact whilst fostering creativity and community engagement.

A key highlight of the Ceramics Cycle is the creation of bio-rocks from recycled ceramic clay, supporting marine biodiversity. Our innovative approach bridges art and conservation, showcasing the potential of ceramics in ecological restoration.

Beyond conservation, Ceramics Cycle is committed to empowering women by providing skill development and employment opportunities. We oFer inclusive training, enabling women—regardless of prior experience—to learn ceramic recycling techniques and take on meaningful teaching and mentoring roles within TOCHI LAB. This approach fosters economic growth, strengthens communities, and supports sustainable development goals, more specifically goals 4, 12 and 15.

Our interactive workshops welcome participants of all ages, from children to the elderly, spreading awareness of ceramic recycling across generations. These hands-on experiences not only educate but also inspire individuals to incorporate sustainable practices into their daily lives. In 2024, over 200 participants participated in trial workshops, demonstrating growing interest and engagement in ceramic sustainability.

By combining education, innovation, and environmental responsibility, the Ceramics Cycle is shaping a greener future for the ceramics industry. Through collaboration and hands-on experiences, we encourage individuals and communities to act, proving that sustainability and creativity can work hand in hand. As we continue to expand, we aim to increase the awareness of ceramic recycling and its role within a more sustainable world.
