I have designed a next-generation silicone food box and system to replace disposable food containers in the food delivery industry. The product, an improved version of an existing patented design, is tailored to meet the high-frequency demands of Hong Kong restaurants. The system includes an Auto-Collecting Machine (ACM) for box returns, powered by AC or battery and equipped with IoT functionality. A backend database and system, integrated with cloud technology, will collaborate with existing takeout platforms and restaurant management systems. A cleaning centre will also be established in industrial buildings to ensure hygiene and efficiency.
Target customers include individuals using takeout services, restaurants lacking dishwashing capabilities, suppliers of tableware for schools, and event meal providers. The system addresses the growing need for sustainability by introducing reusable food boxes, aligning with government plastic reduction measures and promoting ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices.
The GreenKit Interchangeable Tableware system offers a balance between convenience and environmental protection. Customers retain the metal body of the cutlery, while restaurants provide disposable wooden parts, reducing wooden waste. For reusable tableware, restaurants rent GreenKit stainless steel cutlery via an app, charging customers a small service fee. After use, customers return the cutlery to an ACM and receive a refund. GreenKit staff collect and clean the cutlery daily, ensuring it is sanitized and ready for reuse. This innovative approach minimizes waste while maintaining practicality for both restaurants and consumers.
