BivaCoo Limited
Harness the ecological service from sustainable shell fish farming as nature base solution.
BivaCoo Ltd. is developing nature-based carbon sequestration through sustainable bivalve aquaculture, offering a scalable and eco-friendly solution to combat climate change. By harnessing the natural ability of bivalves—such as oysters, mussels, clams, and scallops—to absorb CO₂ from seawater and store it in their shells as calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), we provide an effective carbon capture method that also supports marine ecosystem restoration.
This process reduces CO₂ levels in the ocean and atmosphere, helping to counter ocean acidification and mitigate climate change. Unlike traditional carbon capture technologies, bivalve farming is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and self-sustaining, making it a practical and scalable green technology for the future.
Beyond carbon sequestration, BivaCoo aims to implement a circular economy approach by repurposing shells into bio-cement, soil enhancers, and biodegradable materials, reducing waste and lowering industrial carbon footprints. In the future, we plan to integrate AI and IoT-driven farming techniques to enhance efficiency, optimize shellfish growth, and maximize environmental benefits.
Through collaborations with local fishermen, research institutions like HKU, and environmental organizations, BivaCoo seeks to promote sustainable aquaculture, benefiting both the environment and coastal communities. By expanding our operations and integrating into carbon credit markets, we aim to establish bivalve aquaculture as a leading solution in global climate mitigation efforts, driving a more sustainable and resilient future.
