Our innovative project focuses on creating a line of nine customized "body constitution teas" (體質茶), tailored to meet the unique health needs of individuals with different體質 as classified in traditional Chinese medicine. By leveraging the upcycling of coffee cherries—transforming coffee by-products into premium tea—we combine sustainability with personalized wellness, offering a product that benefits both consumers and the environment.
The core of our initiative is the circular economy approach: we recycle coffee cherries, a by-product of coffee production, reducing waste and environmental impact. This process not only minimizes agricultural waste by over 30% annually but also supports Hong Kong’s local farmers by providing them with a new revenue stream. Our collaboration with local farms ensures traceability and environmentally friendly sourcing, fostering community development and economic resilience. Each of the nine teas is formulated to harmonize with specific body constitutions, such as Qi deficiency, Yang deficiency, Yin deficiency, or phlegm-dampness, offering targeted health benefits like improved energy, digestion, or sleep quality. This personalized approach empowers consumers to adopt healthier lifestyles aligned with traditional Chinese wellness principles.
Beyond health benefits, our project emphasizes social impact by supporting local farmers and promoting sustainable practices. Through education and community engagement, we aim to raise awareness about environmental conservation and traditional health wisdom.
