On March 11, 2026, we hosted an insightful masterclass titled “AI for Climate Change: Opportunity and Public Good” at InnoCentre, Kowloon Tong. A heartfelt thank you to our esteemed guest host, Dr. Hao Xu, Vice President of Sustainable Social Value (SSV) and Head of the Carbon Neutrality Lab at Tencent, for sharing his invaluable expertise.

Dr. Xu highlighted Tencent’s ambitious journey to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and showcased how digital solutions and AI technologies can empower low-carbon transformation. He also introduced pioneering initiatives such as the CarbonX Program, which supports cutting-edge climate technologies including carbon removal, CCUS, and long-duration energy storage.

The session emphasized the role of AI in climate modeling, energy transition, and material discovery, inspiring participants to explore how innovation can drive both environmental and social impact.
